About us
Established in 1942 at Lahore in undivided India and reborn in 1950 at Meerut after partition of India, Nelco is one of the largest selling Athletic Equipment Brand worldwide. Nelco is the only Brand from the sub-continent which can boast of its products being used and having won medals at all major Athletic Events including the Olympic Games.
The big success came during the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi, when Nelco was selected as the Official Equipment Supplier. Nelco Equipment was selected for use at the 1991 World Athletic Championship at Tokyo for the first time. It continued its success into the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. Since then, Nelco equipment has been chosen for every edition of the Olympic Games, World Athletics Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and numerous other premier international competitions.

Pioneering “Make in India” Excellence
A brand new “Make in India” factory to manufacture Weightlifting Equipment was inaugurated in 2021 with assistance from the Uttar Pradesh Government’s ODOP (One District One Product) Scheme. We are the largest weight-room equipment manufacturer in India with a capacity to manufacture 6 tons of vulcanized rubber weight products per day.
Today we are the sole indigenous equipment partner to the Indian Weightlifting Federation, the only India affiliate to the Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) and the only Indian Brand to be approved by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). There are only 5 weightlifting brands across the globe that have been approved by the IWF.

Our global journey reached its peak when we were appointed Official Equipment Supplier for the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi. This was followed by selection for the 1991 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo and the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. Since then, Nelco equipment has been used at every edition of the Olympic Games, World Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and elite invitational competitions, earning the trust of federations, organizers, and athletes worldwide.
